"The event, titled “Healing Our Relationship with the Land Through Rewilding,” will be led by environmental educator Jessie Crow Mermel, according to a community announcement. It is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. April 16 at Nature at the Confluence, 306 Dickop St., South Beloit, Illinois."

Crow Mermel received her Bachelor's degree in Sustainability Studies from ������̳.

Barbosa is set to graduate with his clinical psychology doctorate in 2027 from ������̳. 

"In the Austin neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side, Davonte Dudley is part of a new generation of leaders turning lived experience into action, using mentorship, education and grassroots organizing to uplift his community.  

Dudley connects his education to his activism, focusing on mental health, healing and youth advocacy, all while maintaining strong ties to his Austin community."

Dudley is a current Roosevelt student majoring in Psychology.

"The 55-year-old native Chicagoan is a virtuoso player, completely at ease at the keys. He’s also a prolific composer, with an enormous catalog of 600 original works, ranging from heartfelt classical piano solos to a fully formed sci-fi opera featuring aliens from Mars."

Smith received his BM in Piano from ������̳.

"Julia Keippel is a 24-year-old student in her final semester of biology studies at ������̳ and has been working as a dental assistant for three years. Dentistry has always been an important part of her life; her own experiences as a patient have allowed her to understand the importance of empathy, trust, and human connection, which she now naturally embraces in her work with others. Her academic and professional path clearly outlines her future plans: Julia intends to pursue a master's degree in biomedical sciences and, in the future, pursue a career in dentistry.

"The men are facing an important national team season with a lot of training matches, the European League, the Nordic Cup and of course the European Championship.

Selected players from the preliminary squad will meet for a meeting on May 14-16 in Brøndby, after which the final squad will be selected to represent Denmark in 2026."

Støvring is majoring in Mathematics at Roosevelt. 

"Reginald 'Reg' Weaver died Tuesday. He was president of the Illinois Education Association, the state’s largest teacher’s union, 1981 to 1987.

Weaver, who also spent 30 years as a teacher in the Harvey school system, was the first Black person to be elected president of the IEA. After his tenure at IEA, he went on to become the president of the National Education Association, from 2002 to 2008, and later went on to serve in the leadership of Education International, an organization representing 29 million teachers and education workers in 169 countries.

"City Lit Theater has announced programming for the 2026-27 season, with a lineup that honors its long traditions of adapting literary works for the stage, providing a platform for emerging playwrights, and revisiting classic plays."

Manasa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting (Performance Theater) from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt.
